A huge thank you to everyone who joined us last Friday afternoon for our Big Tea in aid of St Michael’s Hospice.
The day started with a strong wind and quite cloudy which made things difficult putting up the bunting but by the time the strawberries arrived, kindly donated by S&A Produce (UK) Ltd , things were looking up. To add to the enjoyment of the strawberries the Co-op on Holme Lacey Road provided the cream. We also had a very impressive array of home-made cakes, including some lovely home-made buns from The Better Bun Company.
We chose to host this ‘big tea’ event as a good old fashioned tea party with a selection of china tea cups and saucers and ornate teapots. As our guests started arriving the sun appeared, as if by magic, and we were able to sit outside and have an enjoyable afternoon.
Hereford Mayor, Jim Kenyon, also came along to join us in support of this wonderful charity and spent time chatting and enjoying tea and cake.
Once the raffle had been drawn we were able to tally the total sum raised which was a fantastic £200.00.
Many thanks again to everyone who joined us and supported this charity event.
