This weekend, Sunday October 26th 2014 at 1:00am we will all set our clocks back one hour marking the countdown to winter and dark evenings. From this Sunday, sunrise and sunset will be about one hour earlier than Saturday, so there will be more light in the morning for a time (good news for us dog walkers!) but the evenings will draw in much earlier.

Summer time ends in most of Europe on this date including France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Norway and Switzerland.

Did you know? Its time for permanent change in Russia

In Russia the clocks are set to go back for good this year and they will not be resetting their clocks forward again on Sunday March 29th along with the rest of Europe, they will remain on standard, winter time permanently. This decision was made in July this year after the Russian State Duma voted to end permanent summer time in Russia.  More information on the history of ‘Time’ in Russia here
