We were very pleased to invite some of the team from St Michael’s Hospice which included Mike Keel Chief Executive, Paddy Nugent Community Fund Raising Manager, Gaynor Warren Community and Events Fund Raising assistant and Chris Smart Marketing and Communications Manager to the guest house for breakfast on Thursday morning. Bit of an early start for them, however the breakfast and the coffee made up for that.
St Michael’s Hospice is an independent charity and all their services are free of charge. It costs over £13,000 per day to provide patients with all the care they need. 90% of all their funding is raised by our local community.
Our guests gave us an update on some of the things they are going be doing this year, what they have planned is all very exciting; including The Big Tea which helped them raise funds for the Hospice in 2015. We are looking forward to supporting them and holding this event once more, hopefully the weather will be kind to us again.
Finally, a huge thanks to all the staff at the guest house for looking after us – the breakfast was amazing.
