Following our Big Tea in aid of St Michael’s Hospice, Hereford our marketing manager Amanda and Diane from Kidwells Law marketing team were delighted to be able to take our donations along to the hospice today.
We raised £153 from hosting our tea party on the hottest day of the year, July 1st but we had a fantastic time sat in the garden eating cake, strawberries & cream and drinking tea and lots of iced water! Cakes were baked by many of the attendees, S&A Produce provided us with Strawberries and Tesco, Belmont provided us with fresh cream, tea, tableware and lots of essentials.
The collaboration of Kidwells House and these local business people makes us very proud and we would like to once again thank everybody who attended or contributed.
Today we were met in reception by lovely volunteers and Di was quick to spot the charity shop in reception and was soon off shopping! What a lovely idea at the entrance, once again raising essential funds. Gaynor came along to take the money off us and as Di hadn’t been to the hospice since the new building has been opened, we were offered a tour with Paddy Nugent who is the Community Fundraising Manager.
We enjoyed our tour of this a delightful building which has been built to consider every possible eventuality is accounted for, not only for the patients but the families and friends who use the hospice at an extremely difficult time of their lives. The acoustic building and clever use of colours and materials is really stunning and very well thought out.
Paddy explained to us about how the old building will be utilised and transformed into a day patient centre with a broad range of services planned to operate out of the new building. This part of the project is due to be opened at the end of 2015.
Thank you to Paddy, Gaynor and all volunteers who looked after today on our visit today, we look forward to working with you further in the future.
